Very nice, very nice. An all around good shoe, as you'd expect from Vans. So far the only problems I’ve had are just because they're new and not worn in yet. Always get complimented for how they look.

Red half cabs - Best shoes I've ever owned, for sure. Thick soles that'll slow down a blow out, the mid high tops are great for ankle support, and they look rad. I put some arch support inserts in them, though since they're completely flat footed. Besides that, they're great. Not too thin, but not too padded so I can still feel my board. Delivered next day, can't ask for more.

They are excellent skate shoes, though the tongue might rip after kickflips depending on the way you do them. I highly recommend getting these for skating or just for chill shoes.

Amazing - I have been strictly skating in Vans for about a year now and I can safely say that half cabs are the best shoes I have ever had. The grip is phenomenal, the ankle support is a must, and they are very comfortable! Zappos delivered theses shoes in one day, the best service I have ever had!!

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars because I definitely would. In terms of critiques, the only thing I can complain about is that they're much different from anything I've ever skated, but a few days was all it took to get used to them. The vans waffle grip is amazing, always nice to have that. I've skated these for almost 5 months now, and love them more day by day. They ripped after about 2 1/2 months, and it was only a small hole in the sole, nothing a little shoe goo couldn't handle, and it didn't affect my skating at all. The thinness of them is nice, I personally like thin shoes, and the impact of larger obstacles doesn't bother me too much. I highly suggest picking up a pair of these shoes, they look amazing and skate extremely well, thumbs up to Vans.

Very cool - I got these and the Osiris Keefer - they are both semi high top. The Half Cab looks awesome with dark rinse jeans, as well as any shorts. I got the purple and black so I can start mixing more purple into my vibe. The shoes are comfortable although a little flat, so I might throw an insole in there and loosen up the laces. Beware of water that hits the purple suede. After smoothing out the water mark, I sprayed the whole shoe down with leather water protectant. Hopefully that helps the marking.

Half Cabs rock... Got these recently after not having had a pair for like 13 years - they're still as comfortable as ever. No break in time required - I got the black with the red trim/label.

Half Cabs Insole Pain - I skated these shoes for only one month, I've only skated for ten. I had to throw in my own insole right away. Vans insoles are horrible for shock absorption. That didn't help enough. If you don't land tricks or ollies down a stair set or ledge, these shoes are HIGHLY unforgiving, causing tons of pain. The sole eventually wore away. I have a hole that goes straight up to the insole, so I'm done. Don't skate normal Half Cabs, skate Half Cab Pros. The pain from skating can get to be a big problem.

Half Cabs - To avoid the back wearing out, just stick a couple pieces of duct tape on the inside of the back when you first get them. It will save them for the long run.

Vans Half Cabs: Pros and Cons - The Vans Half Cab is obviously a very classic core shoe from Vans, and its reputation is outrageous. I really do love the style of the shoe, the way it looks, the way it skates, the way it feels. I think the only complaint I have of this shoe is that after awhile of skating in them, the inside of the backside of the shoe starts to wear away...then eventually causing blisters and discomfort.

VANS!!! These shoes are the perfect skate shoe. Incredibly flexible, great board feel, break in in less than 1 day. Also stylish and functional!

Purchased for my son - My sons loves the shoes. He uses them as an "everyday" shoe for school. He's very happy with the look and the feel of the shoe. This is the second pair of Vans Half Cab shoes that we've purchased.

Buy Half Cabs Get Chicks - The Half Cabs are by far the best shoe for your kick flips, they may wear out rather quickly but they're not that expensive and who doesn't wanna do a lofty kick flip over a hip in front of a bunch of girls and have them caress your sweet shoes? Personally I would, that's why I buy Half Cabs they basically kick flip for you.

These shoes are awesome - These are the best shoe's Vans make. They were built for skating but you can do any sport you want in these shoes. They have them in low top, mid top and high top. I love them all. I wish I could get every single color way they have in these!!!!!

Great shoe, Zappos service: WOW - I am very happy with these shoes. I've been wearing Vans since the 80s though, so I knew what to expect. What really blew me away though was Zappos.com's service. The shoes arrived overnight, even though I did not ask for overnight shipping… at no extra cost. Incredible service - keep it up!

Vans Half Cab Pro (Black leather/White sole) - This shoe is excellent! The look and feel of it are like no other. If you skate/ride(bmx), they are perfect. The sole is just thick enough for absorbing impact and thin enough to feel the board/pedal under your feet. The materials last also... YEA YEA!

A Desperately needed pair of shoes! I wanted something with a high ankle, but didn't want to fall into the Nike-dunk craze. I found these on Urban Outfitters, ONLY in orange. Sure enough, like a champ, Zappos had a myriad of colors and sizes, all of them great! The Shoe: noticeable arch support, thick soles (a good inch to 1&1/2), and a true fit. not particularly insulating from the cold. A bit narrow; I could feel blisters on my big toes from where they were rubbing. Not sure if this is from needing to be broken in or my foot's own shape. Don’t expect to slip these right on. That in itself is a struggle, because the opening is designed to fit right around your ankle. Again, this may be because they are brand new. All around, love them, as do many others. Lots of comments! PS- not bad for long walking. Been doing a lot of that lately, and my feet are feeling fine.

Great shoe, Zappos service: WOW - I am very happy with these shoes. I've been wearing Vans since the 80s though, so I knew what to expect. What really blew me away though was Zappos.com's service. The shoes arrived overnight, even though I did not ask for overnight shipping… at no extra cost. Incredible service - keep it up!

Vans Half Cab Pro (Black leather/White sole) - This shoe is excellent! The look and feel of it are like no other. If you skate/ride(bmx), they are perfect. The sole is just thick enough for absorbing impact and thin enough to feel the board/pedal under your feet. The materials last also... YEA YEA!

A Desperately needed pair of shoes! I wanted something with a high ankle, but didn't want to fall into the Nike-dunk craze. I found these on Urban Outfitters, ONLY in orange. Sure enough, like a champ, Zappos had a myriad of colors and sizes, all of them great! The Shoe: noticeable arch support, thick soles (a good inch to 1&1/2), and a true fit. not particularly insulating from the cold. A bit narrow; I could feel blisters on my big toes from where they were rubbing. Not sure if this is from needing to be broken in or my foot's own shape. Don’t expect to slip these right on. That in itself is a struggle, because the opening is designed to fit right around your ankle. Again, this may be because they are brand new. All around, love them, as do many others. Lots of comments! PS- not bad for long walking. Been doing a lot of that lately, and my feet are feeling fine.
